Peter’s Homes has been helping folks purchase mobile and manufactured homes in Post Falls, Idaho since 1972. Since Peter Tibesar founded the dealership in 1972, we’ve seen the industry move from 8-foot-wide trailers to mobile homes, and on to today’s modern manufactured homes. Now in our fourth generation of family ownership, it’s our goal to remain Idaho and Washington’s go-to destination for beautiful, affordable factory-built homes. Peter’s Homes was founded in 1972 by the father and son team of Peter & Jack Tibesar. Peter started in the business in the 1950’s in Spokane, Washington selling for T & E Trailer Sales. The homes then were constructed with two-by-two exterior walls and roll-out windows. As a youngster, Jack remembers living in Noxon, Montana and helping his Dad sell homes to the workers constructing the dam. Jack later became a national sales representative in Dallas, Texas, but decided to leave the corporate life and joined his father in 1972 in Post Falls, Idaho with the opening of Peter’s Homes.
Jack’s wife, Judy, has been a member of the team’s finance and accounting departments since 1973. Peter was forced into early retirement from day-to-day operations in the 1980’s due to health issues. However, he was active long enough to see two of his grandchildren enter the family business. Jack’s children Joelle & Eric joined the team in the 1990’s, and Jack’s grandson Thomas became a team member in 2012. This puts Peter’s Homes in what is now our Fourth Generation as a family-owned and operated factory-built housing dealership in the Inland Northwest.
Our industry has seen many changes from the 8-foot-wide homes that Grandpa Pete sold in the 1950’s to the 40-foot-wide homes of today. We now offer a wide variety of homes, ranging from under 600 square feet to over 3,200 square feet. In fact, we offer factory-built homes of all shapes and sizes — single, double, and triple section manufactured homes. The homes we carry represent the best that modern prefab homes have to offer, with porches, decks, prows, sky roofs, and other distinguishing architectural features.
As our industry changes, we believe that we must also change. At Peter’s Homes, we’ve expanded and remodeled our sales and service departments to convey a feeling of stability and professionalism. Our sales department also features exclusive “Home Décor Suites” for Marlette Homes. We put the many options for cabinetry, countertops, quartz, granite, carpeting, draperies, floor coverings, and more at your fingertips, making it easy for you to select the interior options for your new home. What’s more, you’ll find many of these décor items and options displayed in the homes located on our Sales Center, giving you a closer look at your choices in a furnished setting.
Peter’s Homes is proud to remain an industry leader in the Inland Northwest through four generations in business. We strive to remain active in the manufactured housing industry and to give back by volunteering our time wherever we can. We are proud members of many industry organizations, including Today’s Manufactured Home, the Northwest Housing Association, the Idaho Housing Alliance, and the Better Business Bureau.
As part of our continued effort to remain up to date with the industry, the folks that serve it, and the customers it serves, we at Peter’s Homes host an Annual Meeting where our own staff, factory representatives, contractors, and industry spokespersons are invited attend. It is an all-day exchange of information which we’ve found to be beneficial to everyone involved.
